"My Song" by Carole

Denver's Premier Loctician Carole Pearson wrote a piece called "My Song" that speaks on the struggles we face in our society regarding natural hair. It is a powerful and inspirational piece that I wanted to share with you all.
Please take the time to watch the video, you will be blessed. As Carole says in "My Song" just remember YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST AS YOU ARE!

Visit Carole's blog for a great "Natural Hair Experience"

Thank you Carole for sharing your heart with all of us!

What a moving piece! Thanks for sharing! I was so glad to see that you connected with Carole. Ever since I saw the 'How to was your locks' video, I wondered who she was and was curious about her Sisterlocks journey - her locks are amazing.

BTW, You and you're locks are absolutely beautiful - your locks are so thick and healthy (from your 3.5 Years post)!!

This is so lovely, powerful, and beautiful! Check out my post for today, call "Where did I think I was going with the perm". She is right, going natural is very challenging. It is so great that there is a community of support, because it is so easy to blackslide backwards into what we have already overcome. Thinking okay this perm is easier, it is NOT, because this second, third, forth, or more time around we know, Know, KNOW, the TRUTH!

I used to go to poetry reading every Friday evening. I miss it so. It used to be so wholesome, no alcohol was served, worldly music was played by the DJ but it was contained and not "out there"., my place had a live band that could play anything under the sun. When different poets went up to do their thang, the band with make up something on the spot to go with their piece. The last time I went, I did not know where I was a club or what. The clothes the ladies were wearing the music that was blaring? I was embarrassed I had brought my mother and twin sister to enjoy a piece of my world. They were trying to do, what they felt they needed to do to bring in MONEY!
